I had the opportunity to visit my former middle school, in partnership with Outride, and participate in their celebration group ride for students who had completed the Ride For Focus Unit in their PE classes. As a Riding For Focus graduate myself, I'm so fortunate to have this opportunity with Outride! Being able to share my story about Double Peak Middle School in San Marcos, CA, where I became more involved with cycling through the school's riding for focus program with my teachers, Mrs. Shadrick and Mrs. Cole, and outriding my ADHD.
Answering student's questions, mentoring younger riders and helping them get into cycling, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far!
As a 2022 @outride ambassador I'm beyond honored to join legend @nedoverend Haley Batten, Chrisopher Blevins, Ian Boswell, Spencer Rathkamp and so many other amazing talented people amplifying Outride’s mission and working to get more kids on bikes!
Outride is a national 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth through cycling. Through research, Riding for Focus middle school programs, and matching community grants, Outride is harnessing the power of bicycles to improve the cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional well-being of youth and communities.
