The Life Time Sea Otter Classic is the largest gathering of cycling enthusiasts in North America. Sea Otter offers nearly every type of competitive bike racing imaginable at the legendary Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California and the four days of action-packed camaraderie and fun definitely did not disappoint!
This year was different for me compared to previous years because I had always raced Mountain Bike Cross-Country, Enduro or Dual Slalom at past events. But with Life Time making the change away from the traditional Cross-Country style MTB race and only offering a "Fuego" long distance option, I decided to keep it on the tarmac and use this opportunity to spend time racing on the Laguna Seca Raceway course and Fort Ord National Monument grounds!
Super fun to experience racing the Circuit on the famous Laguna Seca Raceway with the high speed downhill-plunging "Corkscrew" where I finished 4th place 🏎 and the 40 mile Road Race through the Fort Ord National Monument grounds where I finished 6ht place overall in my age category after a lot of climbing ⛰ and wind 💨while in a chase group with my VeloSport teammate @blakebecker69 👊 after the third person with us crashed out.
Jeff Shein, Drew Kogon and Eric Oien with VeloSport are the best! Happy that I had the opportunity to race and represent the team at Sea Otter this year!
